The Neuner & Hornsteiner workshop was an important part of German violin making in the 19th century. Matthias Neuner was at one point of time the mayor of Mittenwald which developed into the violin making capital.
Though this example is likely part of a mass manufacture, it was built to good accuracy and exhibits the best in german violin making. There is a possibility this violin could have been executed by Anton Seitz who was an important hand in the workshop. Choice of wood and varnish was carefully looked at.
Sound is crystal clear and just marvelous to play on. This is the closest you can get to a good sound for low price.
