Son of Gotti Orsolo who initially taught him his trade.He received advise from Ettore Soffritti and after the maker’s death,he finished the remaining instruments which Soffritti had left unfinished.He also worked in Austria in 1930 and he completedthe instruments of Monterumici after that maker’s death.During the war he worked at pieve di Cento (Bologna).The old varnish,which presents some crackling,is of reddish brown colour.It is quite thick and transparent with a beautiful,soft texture.This Italian violin having a typical soft note, and here it perfects the mature, clear and timbre-rich sound of this violin. Radiant and powerful, the voice accentuates the quality of this instrument.
